Annual Virtual Climate Workshop Continues to Shape Global Climate Conversations

The Annual Virtual Climate Workshop organized and convened by Barrister Mfah Amadu has continued to emerge as an impactful platform for climate education, youth empowerment, and international collaboration. Organized under the leadership of the Centre for Advanced and Applied Research (CAAR SCHOLARS), the initiative has consistently brought together students, researchers, climate advocates, and professionals from across the world to engage in meaningful discussions on climate change, sustainability, and green development.
The 2026 edition marked the third consecutive year of the workshop, demonstrating the growing influence and sustainability of the initiative. Over the years, the workshop has been organized in collaboration with renowned institutions and organizations including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA Ghana), Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Studies, Mastercard Foundation, Women for Sustainability Africa, Africa Climate Collaborative Project, and Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN).
Since its inception, the workshop has impacted and reached over 1,000 participants across several countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Botswana, United Kingdom, United States, and India, among others. Through expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and mentorship opportunities, participants have gained valuable knowledge on climate governance, sustainability, climate justice, green innovation, and adaptation strategies.
A major focus of the workshop has been creating opportunities for young people and early-career researchers. Participants have been educated on pathways to secure international scholarships, research opportunities, fellowships, and global climate engagement platforms. The initiative has also played a critical role in amplifying climate conversations by encouraging African voices and perspectives in global sustainability discourse.
Over the past three years, the Annual Virtual Climate Workshop has grown beyond a learning platform into a vibrant international community committed to climate action and sustainable development. The continued success of the workshop reflects the vision and dedication of Barrister Mfah Amadu and the commitment of partner organizations to empowering young people and strengthening climate awareness across borders.
